SharePoint AD Management Pack is a suite of four SharePoint administration componanents developed to ease the work of SharePoint administrators. Comprising of Password Change, AD Information Sync, AD Administration, and AD Self Service, AD Management Pack greatly boosts SharePoint administration productivity by delegating non-system critical tasks related to AD to users, and integrating AD operations with SharePoint. The SharePoint Password Change web part considerably alleviates administrator workload by giving SharePoint users the ability to change their own passwords while ensuring access security. AD Information Sync provides an easy-to-use interface to synchronize AD with SharePoint lists. This streamlines the process of keeping user information in SharePoint up-to-date, and reduces the probability of errors and outdated and incorrect information throughout the SharePoint environment. Administrators can manually or automatically synchronize information from AD and OUs to SharePoint lists, and synchronize specific AD fields. The SharePoint AD Administration web part allows administrators to safely delegate limited AD administration permissions and user management capabilities to front-line employees. Administrators can give specific users the permission to create, edit, rename, or delete OUs and AD properties, create user accounts, maintain user profiles, reset user passwords, sent emails to individual users or user groups, from directly within the web part. The SharePoint AD Self Service web part allows users to modify their personal AD account information without administrator intervention. The web part can automatically detect user login and domain, retrieve user information from AD, and display them all within an intuitive interface. It also gives administrators the option to receive emails and logs to track changes made. Moreover, administrators can exclude certain users from editing their information, and select which AD properties are accessible.
